"Chinese Kung Fu" of PV "Panda"

In Datong City, Shanxi Province, a city in northern China, there is a pair of naive "pandas".

This is not a scene in a zoo, but a pair of "pandas" composed of photovoltaic panels in a panda photovoltaic power station. Like the protagonists in the well-known cartoon "Kung Fu Panda", these two "pandas" also rely on their unique "Chinese Kung Fu" fans.

"The design was inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit held in 2015." Power station director Sun Jingsong introduced that 17 sustainable development goals were passed at the meeting and the giant panda was selected to represent China as a symbol of "cheap and clean energy." Of the banner.

Today, the world's first photovoltaic power station in the shape of a giant panda has begun to send clean energy to the outside. This power station covers an area of about 174 standard football fields, with an average annual effective power generation and utilization time of 1,580 hours, and can produce about 80 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity.

According to the standard of 780 kWh per capita annual electricity consumption of Chinese residents in 2020, the clean electricity generated by this pair of "pandas" can be used by more than 100,000 people for a year.

"The biggest'skill' of'Kung Fu Panda' lies in carbon emission reduction." Sun Jingsong said that the power station can save 26,000 tons of coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 68,500 tons each year.

The photovoltaic "panda" has become China's "image ambassador" for the development of clean energy. Vigorously developing clean energy such as photovoltaics, wind power, and hydropower is China's actual action to reach the peak of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve the goal of carbon neutrality by 2060.
